Join our group of fellow wrenchers for monthly stories about old cars, passing the wrench, and the people worth teaching. By a car guy who's still figuring it out.
Welcome All,
If you are new here, I hope you enjoy. Beyond the Burnout is a place for the wrenchers.
The ones who learned on the side of the road, in a driveway, or from somebody willing to hand over a tool and let them figure it out. The ones who still enjoy the satisfaction of fixing something that was broken and understand that the best lessons usually arrive disguised as mistakes.
Once a month, I share a story from the garage. Nothing long — just a 3–5 minute read to start your day with a good story and maybe a different way of looking at things.
Sometimes it's about an old car. Sometimes it's about a road trip, a family member, or a problem that didn't go according to plan. The cars are usually part of the story, but they're rarely the point.
Written by a lifelong car guy who's still figuring things out, Beyond the Burnout is a collection of observations about old cars, the people around them, and the things worth taking care of long enough to pass down.
